Participation in athletic programs benefits kids physically and emotionally. The physical impacts are obvious; kids who regularly participate in sports and physical activities are less likely to develop obesity-related health issues, perform better in school and get along well with their peers. Being on a team and regularly practicing sports helps develop good work habits that will carry over into other aspects of life. The Coos Bay School Community Foundation supports athletic programs that encourage kids to work hard, have fun and create experiences that they will remember for a lifetime.
