Any Coos Bay staff member may request funding for a project for which they are seeking funds provided the request falls under one of the four categories: Academics, Arts, Activities or Athletics.  Most of the criteria for submission is on the Grant Request form.

The Coos Bay Schools Community Foundation Board annually reviews the grant requests and decides which requests will be awarded. Their decisions are guided, in part, by the following:  awarding  grants equitably across the four A’s; awarding  grants equitably across elementary, middle, high school and alternative learning campuses; submissions by staff that are relatively new to the process vs those that regularly submit requests; and the degree to which the Evaluation form for previously awarded grants have been completely filled out and in a timely manner (by the stipulated deadline).

Q: How does an individual’s contribution help?

A: The more money that goes into the general or endowment funds, the more money available, annually, for selected staff requests.
